Paediatric surgery is a sub speciality of surgery which involves the treatment and management of diseases occurring throughout infancy and childhood. Some of the conditions that paediatric surgeons usually treat are congenital anomalies, solid tumours, cancers, infectious conditions, trauma, and injuries. Being the first Paediatric Surgeon of the state Goa, I have established this branch in the state of Goa from scratch and established certain standard of surgical care of children with laudable academic work ( with original surgeries innovated by me) comparable with the rest of the Paediatric Surgeons in India and abroad, initially with no facilities in the early nineties to the present advanced care. Our best paediatric surgery services in Goa have stood the test of time and with the help of the dedicated team of the anaesthesiologist, neonatologist, paediatricians and motivated nursing staff we have carried over 50,000 operations in children over the past 30 years. There was no department of Paediatric surgery in the only medical college of Goa. Practice spanning all over Goa, with clinic sitated at Panjim and Margao, Goa.

Award Ceremony in San Francisco
International guest scholar award and felicitation for innovative surgery given by American College of Surgeons in October 1993 at World Congress of ACS at Masconi Centre, San Francisco, USA. The meet was attended by 19800 surgeons from all over the world. Fellowship of ACS was also conferred during the congress.
